EVENTS

We would like to discuss some of our events that we have helped make memories of in the past. Due to the extremely busy DJ schedules we have had this year, and due to the fact that I have created, programmed and update the website all on my own, I apologize if this is not as current and up-to-date as I would like it to be, but rest assured, all past events will be noted. If the date is not current, please feel free to look at our calendar of events to see what we have been doing and where we have been lately. Thanks, and a good day to all.    DJ M

FUTURE EVENTS:

Please see our Calendar of Events page for future events.

PAST EVENTS:

Our second system was off to Grand Rapids on August 11. Our first time doing a reception at the Van Andel Museum. What fun it was. It was very unique with their different food stations set up. Thank our lucky stars there wasn’t a fire because the dance floor was so thick with people we couldn’t have gotten them out in time. It didn’t matter if we played country, rock and roll, hip hop, oldies or the hokey pokey. This was one of the best dancing crowds we have ever seen. We actually booked Kyle via our website while he was in Minnesota I believe and never met either Kyle or Tonee in person until the week of their wedding. They were very easy to work with even when they had to rearrange their floor plans to accommodate our large lighting truss. Best of luck to the two of them.

Back to Heritage Towers for what seems like a monthly tradition for us. Todd and Dianna were getting married at Heritage Towers with their reception following immediately after. She was beautiful in her dress and he was stunning in his white tuxedo. The great thing about them was that the two of them were as beautiful on the inside as they were on the outside. Once again we rocked the dome and partied all night long. Best wishes to the two of you for a long and prosperous life together.

August 10, 2007. Crossroads Mall was so happy with the turn-out at their other store opening that they had us dj the store opening of their Forever 21 store. It was another great success and we enjoyed it. They provided us with great signage and were extremely helpful. Thanks a lot for asking us to be a part of both store openings and we look forward to future openings.

It was the first weekend of August; August 4 to be exact. It was an outdoor wedding in South Haven, and then an indoor reception. We provided the music for both. We were very worried that the weather was going to be unbearable that day but it was excellent. They had a lot of dancers at this reception. So much we stayed an extra hour and a half for them. They were having a blast. We must grocery shop on the same day because I run into Kyle and Amanda often at Wal-Mart here in Kalamazoo. They look as happy as they did on their wedding day. Good luck to both of you.

July 28 was a special day for Stephanie and Aaron. They were getting married on this day with their son attending the wedding. It was a very small reception in Schoolcraft but there was certainly a lot of love there. Stephanie’s and Aaron’s family were very fun and definitely approved of their union together. They drank a lot of champagne and enjoyed dancing the night away. The groom’s brother said we could DJ his upcoming reception if we were willing to go to Denver Colorado to do it. Best luck to you in the future Aaron and Stephanie.

This was a great opportunity for us. We were contacted by Crossroads Mall and asked to dj the grand opening on July 27 of the new Charlotte Russe store going in on the second level. We rocked the house. You could hear us on the first level of the mall also. We had people come look for us just because they wanted to see where the good music was coming from. Thanks Crossroads Mall for asking us to help out.

We had been waiting for this wedding and reception for a long time. It also took place on July 21 and was held at Brook Lodge in Augusta. Adam and Jen were special to us. We formed a bond with them from the day we met them. They had a beautiful wedding which we provided music for and then what we call a “very non-traditional reception” music wise. They picked every song to be played at their reception for the entire 6 hours. No requests were allowed. There were no oldies and no current music. All the music was basically from the 80’s. The bride and her father “fast-danced” to the father/daughter dance. It was awesome. The dance floor was crowded all night long. DJ M even tore down his Battle Creek reception in record time to join DJ Troy and the bride and groom for a soda after the reception. We have made new friends from this wedding, and when we aren’t busy doing dj business, we have someone to see scary movies with. We wish the best to Adam and Jen. They were excellent clients and now good friends.

Heritage Towers, yet again, July 21. The bride was stunning in her flowing dress and the reception went off without a hitch. Linda and her staff were excellent as usual, even with the broken glass on the dance floor from all the “happy” dancers. Congratulations to Jen and William.

The day turned out beautiful. The weather was great and the mood was fun. Everyone filled the small dance floor in the backyard of the Souhan residence on July 7. Our DJ M had a wedding to attend for a friend of his, but showed up afterwards and helped us rock the evening away. They asked us to stay late and continued to party longer. Even Sophia’s mother was out on the floor all night.

June 16, 2007. Heather was beautiful. She smiled from ear to ear, she greeted every guest, and she never sat down. She danced all night long. They even asked us to stay for an extra hour and Heather still never sat down. She danced almost every single song we played. She also personally thanked almost every person for coming over the microphone. It brought a tear to my eye. Congratulations Heather and we wish you a happy and prosperous life.

The day started out beautiful. The wedding on June 2 held behind the Sherman Lake Y was going as planned. The guests arrived for the reception, and we patiently awaited the wedding party. They arrived, just as the thunderstorms did. They fortunately made it under the awning before they got wet. Our very own DJ Troy went to the same school as the bride so it was a reunion for him too. We wish the best to Jennifer and Sam.

It rained solid from May 25 and at noon was still raining on May 27. But that did not stop Rachel from still having faith that her wedding would be outdoors at Leila Arboretum. Her faith prevailed. At around 1pm, the storms stopped, the sun came out and she had a beautiful wedding. We then raced over to Heritage Towers for a great reception. She really has lady luck on her side and I know this marriage is destined to last forever. Way to keep the faith Rachel.

We are getting to know the elevators at the Radisson well. We were back again on May 12 for the Heckelman reception downstairs in the Exhibition Hall. The room was beautifully decorated, our slide show played in the corner and our lighting sparkled off of the balloons. We passed out Hawaiian leis and beads, and everyone had a great time. It was a special time for the parents of our DJ Troy because his parent’s were able to attend the wedding since they were friends with the groom’s parents. We wish Jason and Laura and their son all the best.

On May 5, 2007, we were at the Radisson once again. This time it was for Hayley Cavanaugh’s birthday party. She and many of her friends were shy at first, but once they saw they couldn’t resist the good music we were playing, they filled the dance floor. Even her brother decided to break dance, which we were told was a family tradition. Congratulations Hayley and best of luck.

On April 28, 2007, WMU held the commencement ceremony for their graduates. What would they all be thinking about afterwards? We're not sure about most of the them, but we know what Sam Eagan was thinking about: How many disco balls and lights can I get into one room? He spent many hours decorating the Red Arrow VFW Hall in Portage, but it was well worth it. He threw a fabulous party for his family and friends, and I don't think we have ever played so many disco songs in one night, coupled with as many Madonna songs. We had a blast, and so did everyone there. He definitely knows how to "brighten" up a room. Good luck in the future Sam, and if anyone needs to hire an interior decorator, I'll give you his number.

What were we thinking? DJ'ing a birthday party for three 14 year-old girls. That's exactly what happened at the Richland Township hall on April 13, 2007. There were lots of screaming young girls, and lots of shy boys, but after one of the moms showed them that she could dance to some old time rock n roll, they decided they would dance for us after all. The only thing I still will not understand is why the younger people like to dance in crowds. The dance floor was plenty big enough, but they chose to only use about 1/4 of the space and huddle together like they were getting ready to play football. Congrats to all 3 girls and I hope that their moms survived the evening.

Vicksburg bulldogs sure know how to cut a rug. Location was Vicksburg Middle School. Date was March 16, 2007. Setting was about 100-150 6th and 7th graders who wanted to listen to current hip hop booty shaking music. Good thing we brought lots of it with us. Once again, we were amazed at the politeness of the kids as they came up and asked us if we could play a song for them. Their parents and their teachers should be proud.

Until we were asked to do this event on March 10, 2007, I had no idea what a Quinceanera was. It is the celebration of a young girl turning into a young woman on her 15th birthday. And Jeanie Lozano is a beautiful young woman who had a grand party with lots and lots of family and friends. And wow, did those kids dance. They loved to jump and dance and were very unhappy when we called it quits after 6 1/2 hours. Good luck Jeanie as you have many more good years ahead of you.

We had only one week to plan the music for the reception, and only 24 hours to put together the music for the wedding, but Elmon and Melissa Oliver proved on March 3, 2007 that if you plan well, you don't have to plan for long. Their wedding was beautiful, the food was out of this world, and the dance floor was filled with not only adults but lots of children who could outdance most adults. Congratulations and many years ahead to you.

Our charity event for 2007 was held on February 24, 2007 at the Radisson Plaza Hotel for the Greater Kalamazoo World of Gymnastics Booster Club Party. We were contacted by Kim and asked if we were interested in helping them out. We gave them a 75% discount in exchange for a great banner and a full page ad in their brochure. There were girls from all sizes running around the dance floor dancing, and after two days of events, still doing handstands and flips. They had a ton of energy. Thank you Kim for all your hard work and some great advertising.

Now this was a night to remember. The Kalamazoo Dogs Rugby team held their annual event on Friday, February 16, 2007 at Papa Petes in Kalamazoo. The evening started out with a lot of very nice people, great food, and then Dr Bramwell presented the awards. I do think he likes our microphones. Then we drew raffle tickets and gave away about 15 prizes. A few of them were underwear from the womens rugby team. Well, to everyone's amazement and enjoyment, the underwear ended up on the dance floor only after the 2nd song. The funny part was it was on 3 men. Naked as a blue jay other than the underwear. And they stayed that way for about 30 or 45 minutes. The party rocked all night long and people never left the dance floor. I have to say this was probably one of the most open minded and pleasant group of people we have entertained. And of course, as we fully expected, Kathy was on the dance floor the whole night having a great time. Thanks again to the Bramwell's for having us again, and we know we will see you in the near future.

Our last event for 2006. It was New Years Eve, and we couldn't think of a better place to be but another great party at TJ's Pour House in Gobles. They gave away Champagne at midnight, along with hats, leis and noise makers of all kinds. And best of all, they had their wonderful hostesses and bartenders brightening up the establishment. They had great drink specials and kept the kitchen open all night for their patrons. Thank you again Janet for asking us to be your DJ and we look forward to seeing you in 2007 for all of your events.

It was Christmas time and was the Radisson Plaza Hotel filled with Christmas parties on the night of December 9, 2006. Fortunately for us, we were in Ballroom A which was directly in front of the big overhead door where we were to bring in our equipment. We didn't have to carry our equipment to different levels of the hotel. That saved our energy for what was about to unfold. The party was hosted by Dr Bramwell and Pathology Associates and was held for employees of Bronson Laboratory. There was dinner, and then a trivia game. We were told, in years past, that the event ended immediately after dinner, so we could expect to finish around 9:30. Of course, this year was different because their party was never hosted by DJ BY TJ. We finally got asked to stop playing music at 11:30 due to the room only being paid for until then. Our thanks to Dr Bramwell, his wife Kathy for all her help and wonderful dancing, and to the rest of the attendees for dancing the night away and making this the longest Christmas event in their history. We hope to be invited back next year.

It was December 8, 2006, and it was our first school dance at Plainwell High School. We arrived, setup, and expected to be bombarded by teenagers who would be mad if we didn't have the song they wanted, or upset because they didn't like the music we chose. Quite the contrary. We were greeted by the most respectful and considerate young adults we have ever worked with. They offered to help us carry in our equipment. When they came to the table, they asked questions in a polite manner and they said please and thank you. They thanked us for our time even if we didn't have the particular song they wanted. They requested music from all genres: rap, country, hip-hop, techno, rock, alternative, etc. Quite a few came up to us after the event and thanked us for coming and for having a much better music selection that DJ's in the past. They even shook our hands. Our congratulations go out to the parents of those students who attended this dance, and to the teachers who have helped mold these students into what they have become today.

We never thought we would see feet fly around the dance floor so fast. But I guess when you have a bunch of people dancing to polka music, that is what you will see. Emily and Aaron Gibes were married November 18, 2006 and held their reception at Father Bart Hall afterwards. There were catholic blessings, polish traditions, and lots, and I mean lots of good food all made by family and friends of the bride and groom. And if the beautiful song that Aaron sang and played on the piano for Emily is any indication of the life they have to come, they will have no worries about love everlasting. Congratulations to you both and we know that you will enjoy the rest of your lives together.

Who would ever think the little town of Gobles Michigan could pack a bar filled with so many people in and out of costumes for the halloween party at TJ's Pour House. It was October 28, 2006, and this was the night the clocks turned back, so we literally "monster-mashed" until almost 3:00 in the morning. We had monsters, rockers, the Flintstone's, french maids, ladies of the evening, and lots more. It was tons of fun. Thanks Janet and Nicole for inviting us and we will see you again on New Years Eve to once again light up the town of Gobles.

Our second time performing at the Blackhawk Bar was on October 21, 2006, for Kris and Kris to help them celebrate their wedding reception. They got married two weeks prior, but this was the night for them and their over 200 guests to celebrate their union. Congratulations and a long life together to them.

Location: Kraftbrau, Kalamazoo MI.  Date: October 7, 2006   Event: 1996 Portage Northern High School Class Reunion. Well, all I can say is Portage people sure know how to party. They loved us so much they asked us to stay over an extra hour, and they still weren't ready to go home.

On September 30, 2006, we traveled up to Grand Rapids and rapped the night away for Adriana and Marco. Good luck to them in the future.

It was a very muggy day in Marshall Michigan, but the air conditioning at Cedar Crest Banquet Facility was working very well. So did Scott, the owner and all his staff. They helped us make the wedding of Mykel Grigg and Mandi Hawkins on August 26, 2006 be the smoothest wedding we have ever DJ'd. They cleared the food and hor d'oeuvre lines from the dance floor in less than 5 minutes. They even swept the floor which I have never seen a facility do. Our kudo's to Scott and his staff. The dancing got off to a slow start until Francine and her friends got on the dance floor. Dresses were flying, lap dances were happening, cowboys were being ridden, but most of all, everyone was smiling, laughing, and having a great time. We wish all our best to Mykel, Mandi, and their son Trevor.

If you ever wanted to see a room filled with so much love, then you should have attended the wedding of Sarah Lowry and William Wynn on August 12, 2006. This was one of the best receptions we have ever been at. The floor was filled with dancers from start to finish. We even played a trick on the groom, but if we tell you, it will ruin it for future grooms. Best wishes to Sarah and William as they start their life together, living in California, and stationed in Hawaii in the Army.

On July 3, 2006, we attended the very unique wedding of Brian Drake and Kathy Delaney. They held their reception at Bullingers in Jackson MI. The reception started out normal, with dinner, the usual toasts, special dances, and about an hour of standard dance music. Then at 9:30, the love of music the bride and groom have took over. We *rocked* the rest of the night away with favorites from Judas Priest, Van Halen, Cinderella, Ratt, Poison and many others. It was a reception like no other for us, but probably one of the most enjoyable ones we have had. It is refreshing to see people be themselves and understand that their wedding day is *their day*, and to make it special for them. We hope Brian and Kathy remember to keep true to themselves for the rest of their lives together.

Nicholas DiPisa graduated from Vicksburg Schools and celebrated on June 24, 2006 at his house in Vicksburg. His familiy evidently is not known for getting out there and "shaking their groove thang", but they couldn't resist the temptation from our great music selection. A couple that was there enjoyed us so much they asked if we could come to their 4th of July party the following Monday. We were already booked, but we appreciated that they liked us so much. Nick is going on to college here in Kalamazoo, so we wish him the best of luck and he prepares his journey towards his future.

Ross LaFountain graduated from Heritage Christian and he and his friends definitely danced the night away June 10, 2006, at Kindleberger Park in Parchment. Ross loves to dance and you can tell he surrounds himself with people who enjoy his passion. They had to have the gentlemen come out and fix the dance floor they rented because of all the action. Good luck to you in the future Ross.

Jose Lozano graduated from Kalamazoo Public Schools with a perfect attendance record for 13 years. He celebrated on June 3, 2006 in Kalamazoo with lots of family and friends attending. There were lots of requests for Spanish music and a lot of hips grinding in their driveway. Jose will be going to serve our country the end of September. Congratulations and thank you for your service to our country Jose.

On June 1, 2006 we went on a secret mission. At 8:30, we started unloading the truck. We were set up by 9:15, and anxiously awaited with the other people in the room. 10:00 came and went. 10:15 came and finally they showed. They didn't know what was in store for them, or where they had gone for that matter. But they arrived at the Blackhawk Bar & Grill in Richland to the sound of us playing Celebration by Kool and the Gang. They were the 2006 graduating class from Heritage Christian Schools. I have never seen 24 kids so enthused in my life. They were on the dance floor for 3 straight hours. I think they were very sad when we closed up at 1:15 to go home. And in case they couldn't tell, so were we. It was wonderful to see these young adults dancing to music from every genre. They didn't care if it was from the 70's, 80's, 90's or today, they shaked and partied until we sadly said it was time to pack it up. I wish all of them good luck and a great future.

On May 27, 2006, we rocked the night away with Amanda Pagano at her sweet 16th birthday party. She and her friends love to dance to rap and hip hop and we had plenty of it for them. We couldn't tell her mom from the other kids because of all the time she spent on the dance floor.

On May 20, 2006, we spent the night in the beautiful Heritage Tower in Battle Creek performing for the Bellevue High School Class of 2006. It was their prom and it was set like it was Hollywood. It is a beautiful building and the cathedral ceiling enhanced our acoustics. Congratulations to all the seniors.

On December 10, 2005, We donated our time at the Toys for Tots benefit at the Comfort Inn in Plainwell. We co-sponsored the event with Jazzercise. It was spectacular and we got lots of positive feedback on this event.

On November 12, 2005, we performed at the District 62 Toastmasters Fall Conference in Lansing. They heard we were so good they asked us to travel there instead of hiring a local DJ. Check out our testimonials page to see their responses.

On July 3, 2005, we helped Joe's sister throw a terrific outdoor surprise birthday party for him at a restaurant in South Haven. He didn't know what hit him. We even had people in the neighboring hotel come join the party.

On June 25th, 2005 we provided services for two different weddings. We performed at the wedding of Leann & Jason Wallace in Kalamazoo. Congratulations & live life to the fullest.

We also helped to make great memories at the wedding of Bruce and Julie Russell in Paw Paw on June 25, 2005. We wish them the best and many more years to come.

We did a graduation party for Lance Gary on June 11, 2005. Congratulations Lance.

I also DJ'd a wedding for one of my closest friends, Mr. Nick Altman, and his wife, on Febuary 5th, 2005. It was a blast and great memories. May the bride and groom live a very happy and wonderful life together for years to come.
